Deleting your account and data

How to delete your The Supper™ App account and ask us to delete personal information we hold about you

At a glance

What you want to do

What to do

Delete my App account

Open the App and go to Account tab > Delete account, or use the online form at www.the-supper.com.au/data-deletion.

Delete personal information you hold about me

Email contact@the-supper.com.au with ‘Data deletion’ in the subject line, or use the online form.

Cancel my mobile service

This is a separate request. Contact us using the channels in Schedule 1. Cancelling a service is not the same as deleting your data.

Close my Fund account or withdraw my investment

The responsible Fund party identified in the final Fund Documents will handle this. We can point you to the confirmed process once Cache has approved the responsible party, contact and customer pathway.

Stop marketing but keep my account

Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing message, or contact us. You do not need to delete anything.

1. What you can delete

1.1 Your App account

Your App account is how you sign in to The Supper™ app and see your service, your Reward activity and your account settings. You can delete it at any time.

Deleting your App account removes your access to the App. It does not by itself cancel a Mobile Service, close a Fund account, or erase records we are required by law to keep.

1.2 Personal information we hold about you

Separately from your App account, you may ask us to delete personal information we hold about you. We will delete what we can and tell you plainly what we must keep and why. Section 6 sets out the categories we are required to retain.

1.3 Your Mobile Service

Cancelling your Mobile Service is a separate request with different consequences — including a possible minimum-term charge disclosed in your Plan Schedule, and the risk of losing your mobile number. See section 7.

1.4 Your Fund account

If you have a Fund account, it is held in the official records of the responsible Fund party, not by The Supper™. Closing it, withdrawing money and any tax consequences are governed by the Fund Documents. See section 8.

2. How to make a request

2.1 In the App

Open the App and go to Account tab > Delete account. The App will explain what will happen before you confirm.

2.2 On the Website

Use the account-deletion form published at www.the-supper.com.au/data-deletion. You do not need an App account to use it.

2.3 By email

Email contact@the-supper.com.au with ‘Data deletion’ in the subject line. Tell us:

  • your full name;

  • the mobile number or account reference the request relates to, if you have one;

  • whether you want your App account deleted, your personal information deleted, or both;

  • whether you also want to cancel a service.

2.4 By post

Write to The Supper Operations Co Pty Ltd, Level 1, 530 Little Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.

2.5 If someone is acting for you

An authorised representative may make a request on your behalf. We will verify that person's authority before we act.

3. What we will ask you for

Deletion is permanent, so we confirm who is asking before we act. We will ask you to verify your identity in a way that is proportionate to the request — for example, confirming details we already hold, or completing an authentication step in the App.

We will not ask you to disclose a complete password. If you cannot complete a verification step, tell us and we will offer a reasonable alternative.

4. What happens after you ask

4.1 Acknowledgement

We acknowledge your request within 2 business days.

4.2 Before we proceed

If your request would affect an active service, a subscription or a pending Reward, we will explain that effect and confirm you want to continue. We will also tell you about any final charge or minimum-term consequence disclosed in your Plan Schedule.

4.3 Completion

We complete deletion within 30 days of verifying your identity. If a technical or legal reason means we need longer, we will tell you why and when to expect completion.

4.4 Confirmation

When we are finished, we confirm in writing what was deleted and what was retained, and why.

4.5 Backups

Deleted information may remain in secure backups for a short period until those backups are overwritten in the ordinary cycle. It is not restored to active use during that period.

5. What we delete

Subject to section 6, a deletion request results in the removal or de-identification of:

  • your App account, sign-in credentials and authentication settings;

  • your saved profile, preferences and in-App settings;

  • your marketing profile and contact details held for marketing purposes;

  • device and usage information linked to your account, and your advertising identifiers where we hold them;

  • support correspondence that we are not required to retain.

We also instruct our service providers to delete the personal information they hold on our behalf, unless they are separately required to retain it.

6. What we must keep, and why

Australian law requires us to keep some records even after you ask us to delete your information. Where that applies, we restrict the use of that information to the purpose that requires us to hold it, and we delete it when the period ends.

What we keepHow longWhy
Billing, payment and tax records7 years after the transactionTax and financial record-keeping law
Customer contract and account records7 years after the service endsContract, audit and dispute-resolution requirements
Identity verification records7 years after the service endsIdentity-authentication and fraud-prevention obligations

Complaint records[2 years] after the complaint is closedTelecommunications Consumer Protections Code
Reward calculation and reconciliation records7 yearsAudit, reconciliation and dispute resolution
Records relevant to a live dispute, claim or investigationUntil the matter is resolved and any appeal period endsEstablishing, exercising or defending a legal claim
A record that you asked to be deleted30 daysDemonstrating that we honoured your request
Fraud and security records30 daysPreventing repeat fraud and protecting other customers

7. Your mobile service and your number

If you also want to cancel your Mobile Service, tell us in the same request. Before we cancel we will explain the effective date, any final charges, any minimum-term consequence disclosed in your Plan Schedule, and the risk of losing your mobile number.

If you want to keep your number, do not cancel first. Arrange a port to your new provider and let the port complete — a successful port ordinarily ends the service associated with that number. If you cancel before a port completes, you may lose the number permanently.

8. Your Fund account and investments

The Supper™ does not hold customer Fund money and does not maintain the official Fund unit register. The official Fund records are held by the responsible Fund parties identified in the final Fund Documents. Cache’s role and the responsible record holder remain subject to confirmation.

Deleting your App account or your information with us does not close a Fund account, withdraw an investment or cancel a payment authority. Those steps follow the process in the Fund Documents. Tell us if you would like help getting to the right process, and we will refer you and tell you who is handling it.

Those parties are also required to retain their own records, including identity and transaction records, under financial services and anti-money-laundering law.

9. If you only want to stop marketing

You do not need to delete your account to stop marketing. Use the unsubscribe method in any marketing message, or contact us. We will action an unsubscribe within five working days, or any shorter period required by law.

Opting out of marketing does not stop bills, security alerts, outage information or other messages reasonably necessary to provide or administer a service.

10. If we cannot delete something

If we refuse a deletion request, or can only act on part of it, we will tell you in writing which information we are retaining, the reason, and how long we will keep it. We will also tell you how to complain.

11. Complaints

Making a complaint is free. Email contact@the-supper.com.au with ‘Privacy complaint’ in the subject line. We will acknowledge it within 2 business days and give you a written response within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992. A telecommunications complaint may be taken to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman at tio.com.au.
